Important Riding Tips for Motorcycle Riders

The number of vehicle increasing day by day and people face many problems such as heavy traffic, vehicle maintenance. Car drivers need more space to when driving on the road and face difficulty to driving in the rush areas. To reduce these problems, many people prefer motorcycle riding in place of car driving because the motorcycle needs less space while riding.

Motorbike riding is different to car driving. The control of the motorbike with the handler fitted in the motorbike. If riders have the motorcycle license then they can ride on the roads and public areas. During the riding, riders must follow below safety tips that help to reduce the number of road accidents.

1. Adjust the mirrors properly and use the mirrors when riding. This will help to see the other vehicle's position that coming behind to you.
2. Ride according to the traffic rules and always follow traffic signs and signals.
3. Keep your body in the right position during the riding. Body position helps to control the motorcycle and also help to see the other running vehicle’s position.
4. Always riding within the speed limits. Fast speed can create difficulties to control the motorcycle and invite accident. Slower speed can face problems for other road users.
5. Put your hands on the brake during the riding and where necessary apply brakes to stop the motorbike. Use the brakes smoothly and avoid sudden braking to stop. If you push the brakes very hard then you can lose control and hit by other vehicles.
6. Keep a safe distance between the other vehicle such as car bus and heavy vehicles. Safe distance can help to avoid collision in any emergency.
7. Do not ride too close the parked area because any driver can open the parked vehicle’s door and you can hit by the opened door.
8. If you want to turn into the lanes, then use your hands or side indicator to signal the other road user about your turning and Turn off your signal after the turn completely.
9. Check the blind spots and when riding on these spots then use your horns to warn the other drivers and ride slowly on these spots. Avoid instant turning and make sure any vehicle is not coming in your turning direction.
10. Avoid rides between the two vehicles that running parallel and not too much space between the vehicles.
11. Use bright colored helmet which help to others to notice your presence and keep a safe distance from your motorbike.
12. Read the road surface conditions carefully.  If the surface is wet, slippery and not ideal for riding then ride slow and avoid skidding in these surface.
13. In the heavy traffic, Use lowest gear and avoid overtaking to the other vehicles. Observe the other drivers and road user's activity.
